Gauge cluster compatibility

The tach on my 09 1050 ABS failed on me two days after I bought the bike back in July of last year. It bugs the crap outta me that the tach doesn't work. I found a guy in the face book Tiger group that is selling a gauge cluster from an ABS first gen 1050. Before I plunk down my hard earned cash for it, does anybody know if the gauges are specific to certain VIN ranges? Or will any gauge cluster from the same gen bike work?
I would think the mileage will be incorrect but that doesn't bother me.
Any help is appreciated.
Ride on...

Only difference between is 3 or 2 button and ABS lights minor like highest speed ridden. PCB is light, don'g go heave heat.
Tach would suck, OH you have a water ingress look bottom left and silicone the crap out of it before the switchs go.
