Thumbs up to CalSci!
« on: 26 October, 2007, 03:50:57 PM »

I just wanted to post a thumbs up to Mark at Calsci, they provide AMAZING customer service.  I originally ordered a +9" screen, and it didn't quite work for me due to a little buffeting at the top of my head, Mark immediately offered that he was going to make an XL screen, and sent it to me without a second thought.  I tried the +10.5" he made and it still didn't quite work for me personally, so I asked again if I could instead try the +7" screen...as soon as I sent the old one back, he immediately shipped me the requested screen - again, no questions asked.  I rode with the +7" today and am very happy with it.  It will become my commuting screen...at speeds below 65 it is quiet and comfortable, above that it gives me a little buffeting, but not nearly as noisy or bad as the stock screen.

Thanks Mark for the GREAT customer service.

EG

Political correctness advances the theory that it is possible to pick up a turd from the clean end.

Deep Vee, refresh my memory, is the +7 seven inches taller than the original screen?

I think Mark's nomenclature reflects" +" from the standard screen.

Does anyone know if you can buy Calsci screens from a UK retailer or do you have to order from the US and take a VAT hit?

After emailing back and forth with Mark at CalSci as to which shield I should order, (5' 11'' with 34" inseams, real short body),  we decided on the +7.  I mounted it and went for a test ride today, it is windy out today so a good day for a test ride.  I rode along at 75 mph with my faceshield up and 80-85 mph the my face shield down, no problems either way.  No buffeting and a huge reduction of wind noise, also no air hitting my shoulders, made for a very comfortable ride.  Thanks CalSci!!!

Do you have any pic and where did you buy it.  I have the Triumph touring screen and the wind steadily hits my shoulders.

I ordered mine today, a +9. I got my stock screen to work pretty well but with winter rapidly setting in.
