I had same 1521 code when I tried to start my cold soaked 1050 with a reluctant SHIDO LIPO battery and used Tuneecu to reset it.
No problem really, the CANBUS fault is caused by voltage surge.

It came on cos you removed battery (most likely) it will stay on 'til the 'fault' clears after which it will normally take three warm up cycles to go out.  Letting the bike sit idle will not.

Hi,

Just a quick question.
Yesterday I had my battery disconnected and removed from the Tiger to make an isolating jacket for it.
After I replaced and reconnected the battery some hours later, The engine started right away, no problem.
But the yellow engine/ECU warning light stays on.
Because of the weather, snowing and the fact I have covid feeling ill, I cannot go for a testdrive. But I let the Tiger run hot at idle and let the fans kick in multiple times. That engine light stays on.
Any thoughts?

It is a 2016 Tiger sport

edit
I connected tune ECU and It reads one faultcode
P1521 CAN defect ...lost communication with ABS.
That is correct since the ABS light is also on which is perfectly normal. It does that any start and dims as soon as I go riding. But I never saw the ECU warning light on before with it. Maybe because the battery was disconnected?
I see no other fault codes.
I can't go for a ride, The street is covered in snow and I am ill, so I guess I have to wait

Hi

So last Thursday morning saw the delivery of my new to me Tiger 1050, not really had much of a chance to tinker until this afternoon due to work and have to say I'm really happy with the bike, plus an added bonus of finding a genuine Triumph tail pack inside the Givi top box, should come in handy

As in my first post, she is a 2010, 1050 in black with one previous owner & less than 6000 miles. This afternoon I fitted the KTM hand-guards, no real issues there, they really suit the bike & look great in my opinion. I have also fitted a new SW Motech center stand, no issues there either, again easily fitted & a quality piece of kit that does what its supposed to

I don't really want to to do many mods to the bike, its pretty much totally standard which is how I like to keep my bikes other than worthwhile mods, having said that I think the next thing on the list is a TOR exhaust if I can find one in good condition then possibly some additional running lights  :164: here we go again  :007:

Cheers, Pete

I'm sure you'll get used to your new ride very quickly.

Not as nimble as your 800 but a smoother ride with better power at the lower end of the range  :031:
