I've been offered a deal on a 1200 explorer and I'm pretty sure I'm going to go for it.  :028:

Indy!!!!!!  :192:
Once upon a time...I had 2 Explorers, the Trophy 1215 and a Tiger 1200 XRx but in the end my feeling was that the 1050 engine beats the 1215 on all counts.
That is why I decided that my 2008 Sprint ST and 2020 Tiger Sport are keepers.

The point I was making is that it's a miniscule retraction designed only to avoid rubbing. Sometimes it's impossible to even see. As Rhead says, too much of this would result in a mushy lever and too much travel. The biggest internal contributor to both master and slave maloperation is corrosion due to the hygroscopic nature of brake fluid. Since the ingress is usually at the reservoir, the master is often damaged internally, first. I still think I'd check the outer edges of the slaves for corrosion and crud first, based on their torrid work environment.

It'll be good to hear what the final outcome reveals.

The 1050 Tiger Sport was sold out in July here in NL. Brussels killed it with Euro5 regulation  :172:

Didn't the TS1050 finish end of 2020? Laguna were selling them off at 9k on the road to get shot of them. One of my chums down in Kent bought one of the last, in grey. Ha. There were no extras thrown in. Still a bargain, lot of bike for that money.

yup. the seals are made to stretch a bit and pull the cups back. On my 02 sprint, the cups were not slippery enough and would pull back too much causing excessive lever travel. The opposite of your issue. I spray my calipers with brake cleaner every couple of months and have never had to touch them.    https://www.freeasestudyguides.com/brake-piston-seal.html

Writings been on the wall for a while now, motor doesn't meet latest Euro emissions, we can only hope there is "BIG" Tiger to replace it not too far away

Lowering 40mm will definitely give ground clearance issues when pushed hard, especially on the track. Was the lowering done with link plates and sliding the fork tubes up the triple clamps or with a custom shorter rear shock and fork internals?
The lowering was done with link plates and sliding the fork tubes up.  :001:I'm short rider and the bike was bought from a guys of the same height so I don't mind too much. My previous daily rider was a 08 Aprilia Tuono Factory and the pegs on that were never going to touch unless I was crashing it   :087:
