Really, sit on a ZZR or say a GPZ 900R, both of which I owned then try a Z1000sx for example, bikes may be getting lighter

Reading comments here, me thinks pushing me luck with TS at 5'-9" 30" leg & 74yr old body. Confidence took knock last month leaving Oddballs rally, entrance/exit turned into mud-bath by 500 bikes & 24hrs rain, heading through when sportsbike tried gun it past me, his bike went one way & he went tutha, onto me, toppled me onto a skip, me & pannier held it until 2 organisers righted me. One of them rode the boys bike off site afore he did more damage. I got through mud ok then, ricked me back trying to hold TS up with 100lb luggage off that skip. Sh*t happens eh. Tad wary of the weight since, waited for clear route off field at Toads rally 2 weeks later. Did 9k miles last year, spread between TS, T800 & Serow, near enough 3k each, looking similar this year, if rain eases off, 8k up to now. Cars coming up for 1k.

I just managed to squeeze a ride in yesterday in between downpours - we actually had 3 clear days so the roads were dried out enough for me to dodge the puddles.

I'm already feeling more confident on it although I'm not sure the benefits of all of the electronics - the TFT dash isn't a patch on BMW's and I notice the updated 900 has had changes in that area. I wasn't really bothered by all the connectivity and I've already found that the GPS from your phone doesn't work! No problem as I'll be transferring my Garmin Zumo XT over for that. I must admit though that I didn't think I needed heated seats but have used it on both journeys so far!

The engine reminds me a bit of my old 955i Tiger - a bit harsher than the 1050 but more than enough power for me. No sign of any vibrations yet and I will be using this mainly for touring so will definitely be looking out for any signs.

I'll definitely miss my Sport, but I'm already more confident cornering on this.
TDM 900 (Commuting duties) and a 2018 Tiger Sport.  Orange Tiger 1050  - gone but not forgotten.........also in the past a 900 Sprint and 955 Tiger. Just added an XJR1300 to the stable............

Get some decent tyres on it will put a big grin on yer mush when cornering. I'm guessing it has the same Tourance next tyres that my T800 came with. Awful things on white lines & overbanding. I swapped them for Roadtec 01 SE's with 110/80 radial front, night & day for cornering.
