Strange Fuel Gauge (Clutch?) Issue

Hi, my fuel gauge used to work fine. The bike was sorned for 7 months, when put back on the road, the fuel gauge didn't register any "bars" (all bars displayed initially with ignition on). The low fuel yellow light still works.
Fuel sender is working correctly (variable resistance back to ECU). I have always started the bike with the clutch pulled in. After reading up, I found my bike will start with the clutch out. It appears that the clutch switch has been disconnected (0 Volts present on switch with ignition on), the switch opens/closes as expected.
There are no obvious wiring mods done anywhere near the switch.
My question, there appears to be what looks like a plug in the loom (highlighted in red on the drawings attached) between the clutch switch (No52 in drawing) and ECU. Does anybody know where it's located?

I know exactly where it is. It's on the right hand side of the bike in the region of the cylinder head. You have to remove some body panels to get to it. You can follow the wiring loom from the handlebar switch down to the connector. If you can start your bike without pulling in the clutch, it's likely yours has been bypassed or is stuck closed. It causes untold drama and problems as the clutch status is an ECU input for many functions.

Looking at my wiring diagram, the switch feeds a ground to the ECU (just like the horn) so you are likely fooling yourself with your tests. The clutch switch makes up when you pull it in and sends a ground to the ECU. Getting to the connector is a good strategy and likely the best way to figure out what's gone bad. Or you could beep test the Black/Orange wire at the ECU on A33 when the clutch is in.

That's it, right there... I have mine stripped to install the self-cancelling indicator circuit. It deals with the same part of the loom.

Sorted. Thanks for your help Zulu. It turned out that the clutch switch is damaged. It had slightly backed out of the housing. I've pushed it back in and secured it with a drop of Gorilla glue. One mile later and the fuel gauge is working again! Off to do the North Coast 500 in 2 weeks time (trip around the North coast of Scotland), petrol (gas) stations are few and far between, so I'm going with a bit more confidence.

It will be the clutch switch I had exactly the same problem. replace the switch problem solved
