Hello All, My 2010 Tiger 1050 ABS oil gauge is topping the bold linre when I ride for 3-7 minutes. My antifreeze / overflow bucket has been topped off with 50/50 antifreeze to no avail. The fan is turning on from time to time. Any thoughts....?

Does the bike actually feel hot after a few minutes, or could it be a misreading? Does the coolant pump actuality pump coolant?

Cold, oil should be in the XX marks with bike on wheels stood up straight, so is yours?  If yes it's ok.
Coolant should remain between min/max marks whatever the temperature - does yours? If yes it's ok - leave it alone.
Fan should cut in and out between 6 or 7 to 9 bars.
Coolant temp 4-6 is normal, 7/8 is hot but ok.
Sound like you are worrying over nothing.

10 bars flashing with waring light on is stop the engine.
If the water pump was not running you'd get the overheat warning very quickly.

Has anything changed recently? What was your previous experience? Has any work been done? If you lost coolant, you may need to top off at the actual radiator and bleed the air through the relevant screw. I'd do that just for peace of mind anyway. It would also be a good idea to check the radiator cap. Bear in mind that riding in traffic and our new summer heat bumps the bars up a little.

Thanks for all the advice. I added coolant to the overflow bucket between the min - max line. The bars still go up to 7-8 on 80 + degree days. You guys have stopped my concerns with your knowledgeable info. Yesterday, I dropped the bike off for annual maintenance. We'll see what the dealer finds...

I would consider that normal for that sort of ambient temp, especially at slower 'town' speeds etc..

Have you checked the gaps in the fins of the oil cooler radiator. Just cleaned mine. Couldn’t see light through the center area behind the wheel. Had to carefully use a plastic pick cause it was packed in there like rock. Hopefully a quick cheap fix.
