Could somebody please confirm the correct torque setting for the front brake calliper mounting bolts? 2014 Tiger Sport 1050 ABS. I have a Haynes manual and confusion ref 35Nm or 55Nm. Fitted with twin Nissin callipers, 2 mounting bolts each side. I'm a bit new to navigating this forum . Also, do we have a copy of the official Triumph manual for viewing?. I'd be very grateful for help in locating it on the forum...might save me posting more stupid questions. :159:

What is the difference in calipers for there to be such a big difference in the torque required? I've not had the older version.

The difference is the bolt material.  Early bikes are stainless, later ones are carbon steel iirc.  All about the metallurgy baby.

I had already checked this, Fowlers parts lists give same bolts for both, the earlier bolts had a different part number which was replaced by the same part number as the later sport model. I can't see any change in torque for the earlier model when the bolts were replaced with the later ones. Hence confusion with the issue. Check through links below.

Very unusual for Engineers to spec St/St bolts into aluminium, and in a torqued situation. Makes it difficult to find a reliable torque figure when we are not aware of the spec of a st/st M10 x 1.25 fine thread bolt into aluminium casting.

My 07 bike has stainless bolts holding the front calipers on from new.  I assumed that was standard.
