    Hi all
I'm from Mt Isa QLD Australia, just recently picked up a new to Me stock 07 tiger 1050 with 45000ks. I've ridden dirt bikes since I was a kid and road bikes in some form most of my adult life. I currently have a 09 Harley Fat Bob and my Tiger. I picked up the Tiger 2 weeks ago tomorrow from up in the Tablelands, so far have fitted a Delkevic exhaust and waiting on My TuneEcu cable to arrive. I've put 2700kms on the bike since getting her including the 1000kms straight through ride back to Mt Isa. I'm going to Mod the airbox but unsure whether to keep the paper filter or put in a K&N, also going to change the fork springs to suit my 80kg weight and maybe change the oil to a 7.5W. I ride the Mt Isa to Townsville 1000km each way stretch monthly so looking forward to putting some ks on the bike.

:401: and enjoy the bike. Looks like a nice clean one and at 45k almost run in.
Most on here would avoid K&N because they have had major QC issues over the past few years and a few have had filters that just did not fit. If you plan on riding after dark your first priority will be some additional lighting.

P.S. Could just be the light but you may want to change the brake fluid

As above the lights are  :005:
If they are available try BMC filter, a tad more expensive than K&n but have a rigid chassis

Thanks all for the welcomes, lights are definitely something that are on the list as I'm bound to get caught in the dark at some point. I opened up the right side of the airbox last night and cut out the middle of the dog bone, still the stock air filter since I only just replaced it when I picked the bike up. I Plugged in tuneecu and replaced the stock map(20550) with the Tor(20551) will give it a try today. The Delkevic exhaust has a leak around the bottom band which the supplier has been most helpful with and has sent a replacement. Once that arrives I'll try without the baffle and give either the AK or Indy tune a whirl. There's a few different air filters I've found online here in Aus and that's BMC, DNA and Sprint P08. Advice taken and will avoid the K&N, The sprint sounds good, although some reviews aren't so positive, and the DNA looks like the way I may go.
Hope everyone has a safe weekend.

    Hi Dano - from WA.

The last time I was at the Isa was about 7 years ago when my youngest son and I did the big lap.  We detoured down to Boulia, camped in the huanted hall opposite Middleton pub then onto Winton and backtracked to Cloncurry and then on up to Normanton where we did the train ride and then thru to Cairnes.

His older brother (who had a very troublesome 1050Tiger) and I did lotsa miles together too.  Here's a link to the maintenance section, wherein you will find his "Whole painful story" which arise from 'That hole in the Airbox.'

    https://www.tiger1050.com/index.php/topic,21627.0.html

I strongly recommend that you keep the stock air filter in the bike.  Anything that 'lets more air in' also lets more dirt in.

    Ride safe.

    Hey Freddy
There definitely is plenty to see out this way if you don't mind the rough roads and this time of year the place is transformed from the wet season. Had to ride home the long way a few weeks back as the roads were flooded, had to go Julia Creek across to kynuna and McKinlay and then back up through cloncurry. Everything is beautiful and green but locusts plagues everywhere. That hole in the airbox I did notice and though it was abit odd but thought it must have been a drain, I'll be plugging it up ASAP. My poor old Harleys getting abit jealous since the tiger came along  :745:
