    SideStands

I plan on lowering my 2019 TS in the very near future, and as such have started to think about lowering my sidestand.

My plan is to purchase and alter a oem Stand, and keep the OEm in case I need to covert back to original height.

Just looking at stands for the Tiger and both incarnations of the Sport, and they all have different part numbers,

Anyone know if there actually physically different or just cosmetic ie colour etc.

A simple way to counter the effects of lowering the suspension without modifying the side-stand or fitting an alternative.
Where the stand mounts onto the frame locating bracket - place copper/alloy washers behind the side-stand lower mounting bracket bolt holes. This forms a triangle between the two brackets. use blue thread lock to secure the bolts.
I have used this mod since lowering my bike without any issues. ( I think I got this tip from someone on this site)

My '14 when new, leaned over too far on s'stand, after lowering 25mm it was fine. A chum also with '14 lowered his 40mm & s'stand was then fine.

Try ebay for a 13-15 s'stand, you might not need to modify it. Ensure fitment is same.

I found my 2013 TS leant over too far anyway so I added a 10mm foot to the bottom (also doubled the footprint for softer ground/gravel) so i wouldn't think a lowered bike will need a sidestand shortening.

I never touched it, you can't blame me, it went off when I was cleaning it.
