    My fuel line popped off

Last week I was parking next to the kerb and my motor cut out.  Went I went to start it again fuel spurted out all over the road  :003:

The connector had come off the tank spigot.  It looked ok so I stuck it back on & its been fine since, though I have put a cable tie around it to help it stay there!

Funny thing is its been over two years since it was last off when I did the last major service

Anyone have any ideas why this should suddenly happen seemingly out of the blue?

The fuel line connector has a latch which must have been left unlocked after tank removal
