So yes, something with character, for the odd hour or two ride at the weekend or summer evening, as I mentioned, if I want to go further I'd take the Tiger.
I was also thinking KTM 890 or 7... something (not sure which version, the sub 1 litre range is a bit confusing), but not sure I could live with the styling, and reliability sounds like a bit hit/miss for the price
Might check out the Street Trip

If you meant the Dukes I can confirm the 790 and 890 are an absolute hoot to ride, even more so than the Street which is one of my fave street bikes. Sadly my 33" inseam means none of them are for me. Recently on my drive...
If you want something a little more relaxed (say in the league of a street twin or Bonny without the retro) I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this one
Again size is an issue for me but both took me back to being a teenager ... although owning a Duke when I actually was a teenager would probably have been suicidal
My own experience with owning a KTM has been perfect in terms of reliability. I am lucky enough to have a couple of decent dealerships locally. I understand that is not true of all the dealerships - but I guess that's true for any brand.

That's interesting, I rode into the office yesterday and on the way home, was alongside/ahead/behind one of those as we diced in and around the usual heavy traffic in the Blackwall Tunnel.
I didn't recognise the name at all, so it's a curious coincidence that a few hours later you post up a picture of the same bike!

But new bike time is so much fun. Even if you have decided what you want you owe it to yourself to go and test ride everything under the sun

Going to wait till the weather improves before I get into test rides, they won't let the CCM out on the road unless it's clear and dry, and I'm not keen on scrubbing up the GSX for a PX and
riding through puddles - the joys of white wheels
All good choices though, the Fantic 700 is an interesting one, nothing yet about a 700 on the Fantic website though, and no idea where I'd get a test ride!

Thoughts turning to other bikes... and I'm thinking CCM Spitfire, in the Tracker, Maverick or Blackout configuration (these three look pretty similar).
I think the near 100kg lighter is very attractive, (I might even trade the GSX1400 that I'm struggling with after the foot injury sustained getting knocked off the Sprint) and it suits the summer evening/Sunday afternoon riding I do.
Has anyone here or anyone know anyone with experience of what a CCM is like to run?
Just looking at the 2nd hand market, there seems to be an awful lot with a thousand or less miles on the clock, and none with 3k or more, I was wondering why...
The Tiger Sport 660 replaced my 2008 SPRINT ST1050 and I have enjoyed every minute with my little Tiger
