Palmer gear shifter mod

The Palmer shifter put the peg in the ideal position for me, but after long rural rides with lots of gear shifting, my big toe was unhappy with that hard peg, I needed some old-style rubber.
A bit of spacer tube, M8 s/s bolt with washer & nyloc nut + Norton Atlas shifter rubber & changing is sweet as owt.

I've got the Jack be Quick version, I always thought the gear shift lever felt like it's too far under the engine.
I also find the metal lever has taken out the gear shift pad on my boot. So the rubber looks like a good idea, albeit too late for my boots

no issue with my toe but the boot does take a hammering from the Palmer.
Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
