    Best/correct/ reasonably priced replacement battery

My 2014 Tiger Sport broke down today.  Stopped for a comfort break and bike wouldn't start. Dead, and I mean dead battery. Not sure how old battery is. Its a  Shido lithium ion battery.  My mate came to rescue lending me a spare battery.  Couldn't believe how light and small the Shido was compared to spare loaned to me. Looks like the Shido is a very light (poss mickey-mouse) substitute and uses studded 'packing peices' to stop it rattling around in the OEM battery box.  The loaned batt is quite heavy and fits the battery box perfectly.  I'm thinking of fitting a new one of same type  . Any thoughts and reccomendations?. Cheers guys  :006:

There's cheaper available, but I've always gone for Yuasa, or MotoBatt.
Like the Stella ad - they're reassuringly expensive  :031:

My 2016 Tiger sport also seems to have a lithium ion accu instead of lead acid , when I bought it a week ago.

    advantages of Li ion :
-a lot lighter and smaller (they are always delivered with mousse blocks to fill up the space) up to 8kg lighter...
-you can safely place them under any angle even upside down and they will work ( just like your cellphone). Lead ones, even gel do not like being angled all the time (this is the case in our tigers).
    - LI ion are less sensitive to  deep discharge. lead battery's can't have that in no way. Look for Li ion with BMS : it shuts the battery down before it is discharged beyond recovery. Cheaper ones do not have that.
-they are more (4 times) energydense then leadbatterys . I read stories about the problems with some Tigers to start when hot? I think a LI ion can solve those.
-They don't have a memory effect : You can have endless loadcycles with them without trouble. (over 2 to 4 times that of lead acid)
    -Very little self-discharge

    disadvantages of Li ion:
    -Way more expensive
-They don't like cold . They may even have a problem starting when very cold (freezing temps) , Solution if that should happen : Put the lights on, the current will heat up the battery and start. I hope mine will not have that problem, but I do not really ride when it starts freezing.

    remark :
Do not just use any charger or any trickle charger to load your Li-Ion. I have the luck, my "optimate 1 duo" thrickle charger ( I used for my previous motorcycle and also my 2 oldtimercars ) is OK to use with both lead acid and Li Ion

Yuasa YTX14H-BS is best conventional battery for the Sport.
