What is correct operation of the oem lights?

Sorry for this dumb question.  I am a new owner…just got my 2008 Tiger abs the other day.  There are no manuals and I can’t figure out the lights.  On low beam, the bike had no headlights on at all.  On high beam, only the right headlight beam came on.  Today I put a new H7 in the left light.  (I have not opened the right light yet.). But an H9 is a brighter single filament t bulb.  Can someone explain how they should operate?  Is low beam just the left H7 and high beam just the right H9?  Or does the right H9 get two different power levels depending on the high beam switch?  I really appreciate the help.  Searches reveal how generally poor the lighting is.  I just can’t seem to find out what proper operation of the headlights should be!

The H7 is the low beam and H9 high beam. They don't work together unless the TwinLightDriver module was installed.
    For a manual try https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1354024/Triumph-Tiger-1050-2008.html
Happy and safe miles on your new Tiger  :410:

Ign on, you should get left side "dipped beam" and a little side light in both top outer corners of the light unit.  Same with engine running.  (note the lights will cut out during starting).  Selecting high beam will bring the right side "main beam" light on in addition to the others.
This is assuming all bulbs/wiring etc are OE.

You can find the manuals in the maintenance section, here is a link, just click on the red "manuals". :028:
