Old thread I know, but I did my rear caliper today. One of the pistons in particular was very tight, once I finally got the caliper off and the pistons out there was quite a bit of corrosion in behind both the dust seals, doubtless the source of the tight piston. Gently scraped it clean, and then got a brass brush in the dremel and polished up the rest - did a nice job of it, and brass is softer than alloy so no scratching. The sliding assembly was in really good condition thankfully, rubbers good and no corrosion, so I just cleaned it up and reused all of it. New seals and pistons (they slid in so easily compared to the old ones coming out!) and a full bleed, and we’re back in business…. Feels less wooden and a touch more brake power, as they should be.
