Hello from Bugslayer
on: 02 December, 2021, 11:54:23 AM
Hi Everyone, I'm a new member called Allan (Bugslayer) living on the Isle of Man.  I bought a 2019 Tiger Sport 1050 in 2020 for sport touring around the British Isles and possibly further afield but that was right before the pandemic so I haven't been further than the other end of the Isle of Man yet!

This year has been my 56th of riding motorbikes, so I'm definitely in the vintage category. I do however, also own a 2018 765 Street Triple RS which is used for track days only so I'm not dead yet.  These are a couple of pictures of my bikes.

The 1050 at Ballaugh Bridge on the TT course.

On the mountain, looking back towards Ramsey

Me on the 765RS at Harris Hill raceway in Texas where the bike is currently stranded. Its been modified quite a bit since then to better suit it to track riding so doesn't look quite the same.

:405: You live in one hell of a place to watch racing. On my bucket list but with the beer virus may never make it.

Did a few track days my self, what a blast.   Love the new bike and well done posting up pic's in your first post.  Smart man.

Maybe some day you can recommend a place to stay with on wild on track viewing from their front yard.

Stickys, top of each section. Check them out.

Oh you lucky man, living in biker-heaven island!  :401:

Best way to see the the TT or the GP is volunteer for the marshalling - I've still got my IOM TT Marshall hi-viz! But you have to take it seriously - no photos.

Thanks for the replies and Tigermike's virtual beer!

Paullie is right about becoming a marshal.  Not only will you get a great place to watch from if you're in the right spot, you will actually become part of the event.  The marshals are also the keepers of a lot of the "lore"about the TT and GP, and an endless source of fascinating stories and history about the races.  Give it a try.

Welcome and +1 on the marshalling, I've been doing it for the past 10 years now and it really gets you involved. I've also marshalled at BSB with Racesafe and it took me a while to adjust to not having armco and tyre walls between me and the action!

Looking forward to getting back over there next year after 2 cancelled years, I guess the island won't have changed much!
TDM 900 (Commuting duties) and a 2018 Tiger Sport.  Orange Tiger 1050  - gone but not forgotten.........also in the past a 900 Sprint and 955 Tiger. Just added an XJR1300 to the stable............

Did notice the lack of, mate make it over yell.   :745:

Don't offer unless you mean it because I have been known to take people up on them.

Of course, and not limited to you. I always have at least one open room, 5 miles from the Indy 500 track, 1 mile from the Grand National drag strip.
