It's the go to battery for your model, not as tall as stock, so need a packer.

I followed Indy's lead on this one.  Installed the 19 Shorai last fall after my YTZ14 quit me after only 2 years.  285 CCA darn sure spins it.  :156:

Well according to the auto parts store battery tester it's "good", but they couldn't tell me what the voltage dropped to or the amperage when they put it under a load. Just that at rest it's 12.7v and the digital read out says good when it supposedly puts it under load.

Going to just go ahead and order a new higher output battery. I've got a spare bad battery I'll use for a core and keep this supposedly good battery and see how it works in one of my other bikes that take that same size 12.

Grouchy did you have to do anything to fit the size 19? Also do you have a specific part number for the one you used?
Wherever it is I'm going, I'll get there somehow, at some point.

I bought mine direct from Shorai, though I see now they're on back order. Several aftermarket dealers sell them, so maybe someone will have one in stock.  https://shoraipower.com/battery?type=175&make=382089&model=382094&year=382094

It is smaller but it comes with several pieces of adhesive backed foam, of different thickness, to take up the extra space in the tray.

I hadn't looked it up yet, I was assuming it might be slightly larger than stock. If I can find one I can easily make shims to fit it.

I have been running the Shorai 19 for about two and a half years with no issues. I would recommend a genuine Shorai charger as well to keep it healthy. Was using the genuine Yuasa YTZ14S batteries before that, also worked great. Here is a link to the Shorai installed in my Tiger.

Since the shorai are on backorder I went ahead and got the ytz14s. Hopefully this sorts it out and doesn't sh#t the bed in a few short months.

Replaced the battery yesterday. I had some thick tool box liner so I used that along with a bit of wood to make a nice padded spacer.

Multimeter results when checking the newly installed battery.
    Key off: 13.0v
    Key on: 12.3v
    While starting: 11.7v
    At idle: 14.3v
After a minute at idle: 14.5v

Definitely starts it competently. And was even able to go for a couple rides since the weather has been good lately. Will be keeping an eye on the voltage readings for awhile though. I have trust issues.

Oh and Grouchy, that windscreen works a treat. Thanks again.

    Your numbers look good.

Did you charge it before using it?  'cos you should.

Same bike same battery, mine's lasted seven years and is just now starting to show signs of no longer being up to the job for the power hungry Tiger.
