Tiger 1050 Sport dropped?
on: 28 October, 2021, 10:18:30 AM
I might have missed a thread on this, but the 1050 version of the Tiger Sport is no longer showing on the Triumph UK website.   I just looked on the site at Tigers for the first time in a while when talking to a colleague about bikes, and it's only showing the 660 and 850 versions now.

I'm assuming this is a result of emissions and/or maybe sales dropping down to the point where it's no longer viable, but has anyone heard anything official about it?

Writings been on the wall for a while now, motor doesn't meet latest Euro emissions, we can only hope there is "BIG" Tiger to replace it not too far away

Didn't the TS1050 finish end of 2020? Laguna were selling them off at £9k on the road to get shot of them. One of my chums down in Kent bought one of the last, in grey. Ha. There were no extras thrown in. Still a bargain, lot of bike for that money.

Yes, They have dropped it for now(according to a dealer near me). It will be back with the speed triple 12 engine apparently(why didn't they just update it?) :112:

what do you mean "just update it" do you mean the current bike?
lets face it it is old! still based on a 14 year old bike, needs a complete redesign to get some weight off and a restyle to get it away from the original (old) looking bike,
To give it a fresh start,

"with the speed triple 12 engine"   Only if they use the 'proper' 120 degree crank and chain drive.

Likely the new 1200 might come in varieties of wheels & plastics to cover the TS & Tex of old. Needs a serious diet to be in the running with the opposition.

Sounds like that's what we'll see, but I'm guessing they'll stick with a 19" front wheel - a significant compromise if you want a road bike.
