Be interested to hear your take. I'm looking for a new bike in South Africa to replace my KTM. I'd looked at the XR but think I want a shafty to avoid oiling issues so it might be a GS. Need to ride them to decide.

I'll be honest when I post my review and if I don't like it as much as the tiger I will say so and why..  :084:

s1000xr? Yes, rode a mates a few years back in Wales, don't recall not liking it  :001: He still has it, oddly, he's in Wales as I type, been there all weekend. He's just about to swap for the latest model..

I test rode one a month or so ago, Signing up for a BRAND NEW one :087: :087: :187: But waiting for new reg! S1000XR TE with a few bits, like you Windy I'm not going for luggage(don't like it either, but I don't like the genuine triumph stuff either!), Already bought my new top box & still got my old side boxes, just need to make them fit(which I've done on at least 3 bikes so far with a bit of flat bar/welder/nuts & bolts).
Mine will have the lowering kit(I ain't that tall), tpms & Akrapovich (as the standard sounds a bit strangled!).
Anyway, to the point! It's fast!, easy to ride, refined. My ONLY complaint is that the seat is a bit hard & you can't move around on it, but it is [censored] shaped so hopefully that will help & you can get a deeper 'comfort' seat.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE my TS, but she who must be obeyed said I can have a new one!!! :046: :046: :012: & as they've discontinued the 1050, I can't buy one! Tried the 900GT & the S900XR, both nice but I don't want to go smaller quite yet & don't want full adventure either. (GS/Tiger 1200 etc.)
My 15 plate 1050 is up for sale, I've put an ad on here if anyone is interested/knows anyone  :001: :037:
