ECU Map
on: 13 October, 2021, 05:03:28 PM
Hi,
I`m interested to find out what ECU map my bike has. I presume its factory default but the bike is a 2007 Tiger 1050 model and had 7 previous owners...so not sure :084:
So what's the quickest / easiest way for me to find out?
Many thanks,
Jason

Quickest and easiest (but most costly) is to ask the dealer to hook up their tool to your bike and read the map.

The low cost DIY method is to use Tune ECU, a computer (Windows PC or Android tablet/phone), and a USB cable connected to the data port under the seat.  There's a learning curve, but once you have it figured out it's quick and easy to do.

A word of warning though, either method will give you the map number, but you'll not know for sure if a prior owner altered the map or loaded a custom map that used a standard map as it's base.  You'll find instructions for how to use Tune ECU in this forum. The only way to know for sure what map is on your bike is to download the one you want and load it yourself (using Tune ECU).

Thats great, thank you.
I've ordered a VAG KKL USB ODB2 USB cable and will hook it up my laptop this weekend  :028:
Do you know where I can download a WIN XP copy of Tune  ECU?
Cheers,
Jason

I'm not sure if all the software and tunes are still downloadable however I do have a few stored on a shared drive somewhere, as do others. Do feel free to ask if you get stuck or can't find what you need  :031:

Jason, you need to check that the OBDII device you have ordered has the FTDI Chipset or it is unlikely to work  :028:
