    In July 202 :187:1 I paid € 285 for a set Bridgestone T32 Evo. Just checked... now € 350

    Wow! I just ordered a pair of Roadtec 01's for my 800, after finding a gurt big screw in middle of rear. Not sure how much yet, I said, just get them, 'cos I know they're in short supply. Rec'n 300 + fitting.
    Also: '16 Tiger 800, '95 Yamaha Serow, '58 Ariel FH.

    Job done yesterday, £293 + £30 ride in/out fitting for the pair. Skinnier than our 1050's eg 110/80x19f 150/70x17r. By eckers they're getting dear. Tyre fitter said he could have plugged it ok but I'm wary of plugged tyres. First puncture since 2013 so can't complain. Now what'll happen.......

    Had a "Come to Jesus" rear braking moment with my EBC HH pads.
    Setting: US - Ohio 555 "triple nickel"
    Situation: my son putting distance on me on his FTR1200 Indian. I decide to make up ground by putting the Tiger into hyper drive on a short straight and actually rev it toward higher rpms.
    I dynamite the front brakes going into a 30mph turn. The rear tire unexpectedly locks and we go into a lurid slide into the turn. It turned out OK but I clearly ran out of talent.
    Question: are EBC HH pads a little like an on-off switch? We had max weight transfer to the front under braking.

    I can’t say I ever really noticed that.  I run EBC HH on the front and really like them, but at the rear I went back to organic - though TBH it was more because changing the rear disc is quite hard work and HH pads wear the discs more.

    With so much front brake applied there is very little grip available at the the back whichever pads you have.

    Do you have ABS?  That is a textbook example of where it is so good - it would simply pulse the rear brake until your tyre was gripping again, and would have done that so quickly that you would probably have noticed the buzz on the pedal before the slide itself.

    I have EBC HH all round and really like them. IMO the stock pads would be unable to lock the rear  :745:
    But I do have abs ...
    Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

    No abs on my bike.
    When I  asked way back when about EBC, a couple guys responded they preferred organic. Easier to modulate. I had no issues until that one moment.  Maybe I'll just slow down. Too old to crash!

    Yikes  :005:, man, glad it turned out OK.  The 555 can definitely get you in trouble.  I've run EBC HH for many years and not had that on/off sensation you described, but I do know some folks prefer organic for their modulation characteristics.

    I have ebc HH front & organic rear but then I have ABS, that might have saved me from highside/busted knee & shoulder when I wrote off the ST955. Rossi had a highside same day so I didn't feel so bad about it. He was back racing 2 weeks later, I was 4 months, 3 of them on crutches.

    Think yersen lucky, you got away with a warning.
