West Wales & Gloucester rallies
on: 06 September, 2021, 09:41:44 AM
Nice to get in me bed last night after 9 nights in me little tent. Stopped off at Crossgates caff for an all day grease up brekkie & meet up with me chum from Sleaford, Linc's. Then on to the Plough Inn at Sageston near Tenby for 3 nights at West Wales Triumph rally. To save going home we then camped for 3 nights in the Brecons at Cwmdu, great pub there, steak & ale pie with Rev James beer, sheer bliss. Left Cwmdu for the Baffle Haus bikers caff near Pontypool for lunch then onto the Gloster Meteors rally at Apple Orchard campsite near Westbury on severn for 3 nights. Great to be out & about, 497 miles & never saw one drop of rain. Bad bit was sunburnt knees & feet from sitting at tent chin wobbling in shorts & flippies. Ha.

Great to meet up with Paullie & our tiny wee Welsh chum we found in Ullapool back in 2016 at the Tri-fest, both turned up at both rallies so some good banter all round with the rally regulars & new chums along the way.

And thanks to Timbox for putting us onto the Baffle Haus caff, that was a good lunch stop on route, some tasty bikes turned up there, mostly ridden by OAP's.

Accident at Craven Arms just before I got there, couldn't believe the state of the KTM, totally crushed between a big van that shunted him into the car in front. Luckily the boy was ok, sat on the grass at side of road. Fire brigade, ambulance & 3 police cars attended.

That's at the Baffle Haus cafe, several bikes on shelves up on display, some beauties being ridden in, the Benelli 900/6 was mint.

The Speed twin rider wasn't keen on his shocks, splashed out 1,200 on some a/m.
