A wee run into Wales
on: 02 June, 2021, 08:11:49 PM
I thought it might be a bit quieter on the roads today, I was wrong. Set off late, so a part clogged up M'way ride into Wales, then A5104 where I caught up with a very old bike being ridden at a fair lick, 40+mph, no smoking, smooth as owt. He wasn't hanging about on the bends either on those skinny tyres. I took note of number & looked it up when got home. Impressive eh.

And that's your mistake right there. Asked the nice lady inside my Garmin to get me home without using motorways or A roads, and if possible could we avoid anything that would fit a caravan. Hardly saw any traffic on the roads  :001:
Mind it did take me over 5 hours to cover the 200 miles  :038:

This was near Ilminster

Yes Sean, you had a great time on the lanes. My m'way time saver was a big mistake, lost me 30mins getting me to my lunch stop, should have been the Italian bistro in Bala for 12am, got there 12.30, busy place but got a table in the sun.

MY route back is a long way around, a good 3 hours, tried it a couple of months back, a cracking ride for 50+ miles of it from Bala to Whitchurch. The rest of my route home was too busy for fun. I reset sat-nav for home at Loppington, knocked 22 mins off, near what I lost going out.

Great ride.
