Well, another love affair is over. If it will not work with two, three is never going to fix it, as they say in Sex-Ed 101. In this case the third party is Chrysler / Daimler / Fiat / Stellantis / ??. The lack of backup from the new owners of the company is wreaking havoc on prices, commitment and enjoyment.

The failing items on Prowlers are PCM's (ECU's), TCM's (transmission ECU's), windshields, ball joints, and a few more esoteric components. Breaker yards are gouging owners - $5000 for a PCM, $3000 for a windshield (which insurance will not cover)  - and owners are running like poodles in a lightning storm. One owner just had his car totaled for a windshield crack, yes, truly, as it's a safety item. A great (fantastic) car is now about to become a footnote as nobody in the aftermarket is willing to step up. I guess the small volume is the problem. I girded my loins and sold off my incredible car in order to be able to sleep at night and not be worrying about a $40k car turning into a door stop. I'm guessing Viper owners are in the same boat.

Thus rests a brief but happy time with an American icon. RIP.

Beautiful car, shame it has to go, great fun for the warmer climes, nae use in UK it'd fill up with rain.
