Snorkel Out

If I pull out the airbox snorkel out and run a  Delkevic pipe without a baffle...does the bike need a different ECU map?

Let me qualify my opinion before I start: I don't think the OEM airbox is restrictive. Others will differ. The effect MIGHT be be felt at big intake conditions or at constant high revs but that is open to discussion. I DO know that I needed an immediate tune change to smooth out performance when I fitted my Remus. Mostly overrun backfire. It resolved the low-end snatch and made the bike behave nicely. I recall loading a regular performance tune (maybe the Arrow off-road), nothing major.

I used Windows XP, related cable, etc. No use now. Never used it since. I'm no longer interested in the Tune ECU option since it is so specific, excludes operating systems, etc. Too messy. I'd have been better off just rolling down to my dealer and having them, do it.

In summary: A pipe probably warrants a tune change but I'd first do a simple adaption cycle (search that), pretty much just letting it idle to a high heat value) and see how that goes.
