Not sure if it's the same, but  there's quite a bit about problems with the pins on the XT section of the Zumo forum:

Possibly an illusion  :001:
Here they are head to head. Screen area on the Garmin is bigger but overall it is significantly lighter. Not an issue on the Tiger but a big deal on the Katoom where the TomTom wobbles all over the place and the Garmin is fairly stable. As I said I still prefer the TomTom but that may just be because its all I have used for very many years. But if I had to choose 1 it made sense to go for the newer one.

Ayup m8, why's yer Tom-Tom wobbly? Mine's quite solid on Ram mount off a h'bar bolt. What set up you got? so I don't get it.

You need to read the whole sentence  :745:
Not wobbly on the Tiger. Wobbles on the orange bike  :008:

Ok gotcha,  :028: it's not the mounting that's the problem, it's that lumpy V twin vibrating itsen to bits.  :745:

That and the fact the standard mount is plastic and attached at the top of the screen bracket. Not gonna spend loads of dosh buying a 3rd party one or time making my own. Does the job, as long as you don't use an oldish TomTom.

I splashed out for the KTM mount on my 1190 and it was putrid. I fabbed up an arm using a RAM-A arm and small balls to brace it which worked much better and got rid of the vibration and sloppiness.

Just finished installing a Zumo XT on my Sport with the lockable Touratech mount because I had some "experience" with the fragile standard Garmin mounts (my brand new Zumo 396 popped loose on a rough single lane road in Wales and landed in a pool of water.... it survided but still).
Like most stuff from DEU the Touratech mount is well engineered, large and plain ugly  :164:
