Long o'erdue pics from Mo/Ark trip
on: 09 February, 2021, 05:55:15 PM
Coupla buddies and I ran down to Missouri and Arkansas for 5 days of fast and fun on their excellent twisties last October.  Camped off the bike at a new location each night.  The scenery was nice, leaves just turning.  Weather turned out perfect.  And the roads ... among the best you can find in the midwestern USA, IMO.

I forgot to add photo comments, FWIW ...

We got some cool shots with a drone thanks to our tech savvy BMW rider.

Home for the night - Huzzah Valley Campground in Steelville, MO.  This was the first and coldest night of the trip, down into the 40s.

Peel Ferry near Peel Arkansas. Heading back to lovely IL.

Arkansas "mountains" are quite beautiful.  By the 5th day of the trip, a lot more color was starting to seep into the leaves.

Total trip mileage.  We averaged 52 mph overall, on lots of curvy roads, no Interstate unless we needed to cross a river.

Prepping the drone - very capable and not a ton of $$.

National Rec area campground in Arkansas (but I do not recall the name).

A little bit of traditional Arkansas BBQ fare - delicious!

Great pic's.  Reminds me of the Blue Ridge parkway hills.

Look's like you all had a blast.  :152:
