Don't know what my bike situation will be once we can start taking test rides again, weather pending also,
mention it enough times (probably getting boring now
) but my issue is tinnitus and wind noise so I may end up having to go naked
Speedy looks interesting but very open at the front with absolutely nil protection so only a day out bike imo but after years on ADV bikes not sure if the speedy will feel too compact and not really much room to hang anything
I am looking closely at the Kawasaki Z H2, look to sit more in the bike and it can fit a small screen with the Sport so sure other manufactures will come up with something a little more substantial,

Anyways, anybody got any thoughts of buying the new speedy? Might take a test ride, when we're allowed.
Nah, if the 180HP is real, even 160, and they stick that lump in a Tiger Chassis then I might be interested

I'd be more'n happy with the old 148bhp speedy motor, as long as torque is low down & with lower CofG. Modern bikes are all top heavy, like a pig on stilts, our Tigers are about as aerodynamic.

I would say bhp will be knocked down a little to the 160 mark and more bottom end in a Tiger Sport
Timbox will verify the Katoom with 160 doesn't exactly hang about or want for anymore
It's pretty bonkers when you want it to be

likely the whole set up will be lighter and the motor looks to be a short stroke so CofG should improve,
I mean this is there "new" motor so would expect it to be a big improvement in general over the old

They all keep upping the bhp, but they don't really get any faster except the fully faired 200bhp bikes. I doubt anybody uses anywhere near the top end in reality, always good to have a bit more mid range grunt for passing a line of vehicles instead of picking them off. Caravans are helpful, they get them all bunched up for us, I like caravans.

They'll do it, albeit with a shaft drive and maybe an uneven firing order.
By the way, I'd like to see that engine also in a sort of Trident 1200, a big naked roadster with a shaft drive and some creature comforts for touring two-up.

THE 1200 Tiger (EXP) launch seems very quiet, I hope it is soon as this could also be of interest but
they can keep the stupid "T" plane crank, it's a triple and needs to stay that way,
also get shot of that spindly 21" front and weedy rear tyre,
If they want to compete it needs a 19" front and a 17" rear with a 170 tyre, that is now the norm,
I hope the bike pictured is their off road version and not the norm

Puccio, is that the proposed replacement for the Tiger !050 Sport and Tiger 1200 Explorer, using what looks like the upcoming 1160/1200 Speed Triple engine with a shaft drive?
If it is I have to say I'm impressed with Triumph's determination to get a slice of the BMW GS's sales pie. The 1200 engine in the 2014 Explorer (and also used in the slightly llater 1200 Trophy) seemed dated when it was launched, must have taken a big financial hit with that one.

Yes it is, due for 2022 according to Triumph Italy.
Guess they'll make the usual 19-17 wheels variant and call it a day with any Tiger Sport replacement.
