Ok yes but it is not euro 5 so it has that one year 'stay of execution'
ZZR1400 and FJR1300 also not euro 5 in their last year

Dunno though, this is from Motorcycle Industry Web:
For existing moped and motorcycle models type-approved before the 1 January 2020, Euro 5 will become mandatory as of the first day of 2021.

Afraid all of these leave me cold.
But I do quite fancy the Triumph Trekker!
Even better, it comes in grey!

I'm surprised European authorities extended the period of grace under the 'derogation' rules allowed so many non Euro 5 compliant bikes to continue to be sold especially since the Euro 6 standard was introduced way back in September 2015, and all mass-produced cars and trucks sold from then have had to meet those emissions requirements.
Here in Australia it has recently been announced that implementation of Euro 6 for cars and trucks has been put back to 2027. No mention of powered two wheelers in the announcement.

Although the categories of emission standards have similar names, I’m pretty sure that Euro 5 refers to a different set of technical requirements for bikes than cars. It’s not so much that bikes are years behind, more that it’s a different set of standards entirely.

You know, as silly as it sounds, there are still riders younger than 50, even 40
even outside the UK
and guess what, some of them don't need camping gear nor variegated scaffoldings strapped on their motorcycles for travelling and going places

I'm sure there are, I never see any at the ferry ports when I'm heading over to Italy each year.
To be fair, I met a boy on the IOM, camped next to us. I wondered how he'd packed all this kit on his bike with no panniers or topbox, on the day he was leaving, he packed it all up, went & borrowed a trolley from a nearby supermarket, and took it down to the post office in town. He'd had it delivered to Peel campsite by courier. Smart thinking eh. Who needs panniers, topbox & tankbag, just need to think outside the box eh.

I'm sure you're right. Why, I remember when I used to ride nakeds and went all over Europe on them.
That's probably why my arms are longer now than when I was a lad ... !
