Don't use panniers, I found a waterproof 50L roll bag that straps to the back seat. Get everything I need for a weeks tour in there.

Thanks for all the info. There;s some useful ideas there. I particularly like the LOMO crashbar dry bags, they could be used on both bike and pushbike.

Lomo’s look great! can anyone suggest rack options that would work on a 2012 1050 and keep them clear of the exhaust?

Would the SW-Motech EVO Luggage Carrier work? If so, would an adaptor also be needed?

All a bit confusing for a newbie.

As a former 2010 owner I tried soft panniers and frames (can't recall what make? Givi) for a while but never felt 100% happy that the exhaust and panniers wouldn't meet leading to a sticky and expensive mess.

I went standard panniers (small but look best IMHO) plus a roll bag if needing to carry some gear.

It's your call.

When you say standard, you mean Triumph set? I am also looking at other aftermarket options so any pointers much appreciated.

From what I can tell. I need to ensure the rack and luggage are compatible e.g Givi, shad etc although adaptors can be used.

Yep by standard I mean triumphs own panniers. They are reverse tardis ie big on the outside and small on the inside! Over engineered and solid. Look great though.

Lots of 1050 owners removed them and the frames and went aftermarket. I can't comment but someone will.

NB if you go standard someone on ebay UK is selling just the frames at the moment for £95 plus postage

I have the panniers, supper light, quality piece of kit, I haven't used them yet but will do a write after first use..

Excellent thanks. So to fit these to my 2012 Tiger 1050 I’m thinking I would need the Givi PL727 side rack at £110 and the GIVI SR225 top rack at £65.

Unless I can use any Toger 1050 compatible side rack and fit these?

That’s what I’m currently confused about. The compatibility of racks and panniers.

I’ve also seen a stand rear rack with standard top box but don’t know if I could then fit along with the Givi side panniers.
