Rear caliper rebuild
on: 22 July, 2020, 01:16:25 PM
I recently posted that i was looking for another rear caliper as mine was in a bit of a state, luckily Megaross came to my rescue & sold me a repaired caliper body  :031:
mine had lost part of the lip off & the top seal was sticking out as below  :004: still worked but not properly.

The 1 i received was in much better shape so i tidied it up & repainted with some heat resistant paint i had leftover from when i replaced my oil cooler
before

after with new seal kit, slider pins & pistons

just had to use the carrier plate & pad spring from my old caliper & it was good as new after bleeding.  :028:

I machined out the right hand caliper pin lug (as you look at the assembly/last pic) well actually it wasn't there anymore  :164:
made a plug with the thread in and press fitted it into the new hole.

Yes, was a very professional repair, guess you have access to a lathe and other decent tools Steve  :031:

Nice, you havent got any Hurco mills in there have you?
I used to do the QC on them before shipping to customers.
