Thanks for the tips ya'll...still groping around. Luckily I survived my "volunteering"with only having to drive. Even tho i was in a cage, the drive back through Nevada and Colorado was very nice. Sadly can't say the same about New Mexico. They seem to be embracing the zombie apocalypse with unbridled zeal. Entire towns off limits to non-residents. No alcohol sales in some towns due to an unspecified connection to the "virus". Never dreamed enjoying a pint at the end of a long day would be considered hazardous so live and learn.
Nevertheless a successful road trip with no drama.  I saved that until I got back and dropped my bike while trying to push it into the shade to suss out the electrical issue. Despite having crash bungs I still managed to break the bloody windscreen. And to add to the embarrassment had to ring a friend to help me pick it up.  Aaargh!  This getting older nonsense is getting tiresome. On the bright side, this time I wasn't riding it when I fell over!
When I'm finally too old to ride...I'll get a Harley ;)

Good eye KevMax. Sadly none of those shenanigans going on here at the moment.

I'm still trying to beat Rocinante into submission. Put the VOM on my battery today and discovered my alternator is only puting out 10 volts. Guess that explains the constantly dwindling battery. But not why it sometimes doesn't start with a parallel battery.

Anyway, snooping around with the bike keeps me occupied and keeps the public and those funny sheep safe as well.

Ya'll try to behave while I'm away.

Need to check the output of the stator.  Though it was around 60v AC on each of the yellow  wires.
You can't  run on 10v
