At least you found it in time before it left you on the side of the road...
Yes, just about to buy a Delphi metri-pack 280 series 3 way connector....

My mates stator arrived in the post today along with a spare metal gasket, looks like its a thicker gauge wire than the aftermarket one.

Got it fitted, greased up connectors with vaseline till i can fit the delphi connector block.
Started 1st go , giving 14.2 volts at the battery, drops to 14.1 v with the main beam on.
So success..fingers crossed 🤞

Well done Mike. i always find your posts interesting, since I know you do a daily high-mileage commute on your bike. Triumph should offer you a retainer as a bike durability tester!  :164:

He was recommended by a mechanic to change to the latest version of the Triumph stator & reg/rec as they were more reliable than what was fitted, so as his 2009 was on about 35k miles he decided to do a bit of preventive maintenance knowing that they are a fairly common issue. he paid over 400 for the stator alone  :087: & am sure he was sent an RM Stator one (same make as i have just binned).
he did the work himself whereas he normally gets a mechanic to do most of the work.

Thanks Paullie, not doing quite so many miles as i used to, down from 100 miles a day to 55 miles & on more enjoyable roads  :028:
i am on the bike today, she was running well & started 1st go this morning, so fingers crossed, i wont have to change the stator again.
i have a better connector in the post which i will fit & a used series shindengen Regulator on its way from the US.

my new Stator (from Squaredeals) & Gasket (Fowlers) arrived today so i may be sending the stator back un-opened & get the 145 quid back... hmmmm  :084:.. what do you guys think?

I remember Jim Hamlin saying he wouldn't go anywhere without taking a spare stator.  :005:

Back in the day I wouldn't go anywhere without spare plugs and contact breaker, but who remembers those times?

Course, that was also before mobile phones and the ubiquitous recovery services - the only recovery was shank's pony!  :481:

Ha, yes, I think rhead fitted a voltmeter to give some warning of when the stator was on its way out.
