(Now found) Rear Caliper 1050
on: 25 April, 2020, 03:42:03 PM
As in title. If anyone has one that will fit I will take your arm off, mines scrap after a failed attempt to helicoil the retaining pin (casting chipped off)

Car engines out at the moment with an oil pressure issue so currently transportless.

The rear caliper type is same on many Triumph models. As far as I know because I owned/serviced these models: Sprint ST/GT, Speed3, Tiger 1050/Sport, Tiger Explorer/1200, Trophy 1200 SE and late Bonneville models 865/900 and T100/T120.
Triumph centerstand/engine guards/heated grips, GIVI PLR6404 side rack/DLM36 panniers/SR6404 topbox rack with M9B plate, DLM30/V47N/TRK52B topcases, ST603/602 tanklock tankbags, EVOTECH radiator&oilcooler guards, Pyramid ExtendaFenda/hugger extension, Puig touring Screen & spoiler, Zumo 396 with Zumolock holder on RAM mount, Osco chainoiler, SWMotech sidestand extension, CNC shorty clutch/ brake levers, SCPROJECT SC1-R can, Micks 25mm lowering plates, KOSO Mini3 volt/temp/time & LED blinkers

No picture but imagine you tried to helicoil the retaining pin and the drill bit grabbed the casting and snapped the entire outer sleeve of it off. I probably could fill it with liquid metal and ally shavings and tap it but it's brakes so not a good plan.

Nope, like a mirrored caliper on the top mounting single swingarm models. I know this because I painted one before realising the caliper was the same dimensions but reversed.

A trophy 1200, Daytona 600/900, sprint or speed triple 900 caliper is the same part number. Also none for sale. I've seem a trident 900 which may work (different part number but I think that's just the bleed nipple being different) but obviously I don't want to risk another non fitting caliper.

Found this on ebay, its a full set of brakes plus other parts for the tiger.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRIUMPH-TIGER-1050-2010-Front-Brake-and-rear-caliper-set/352735071429?fits=UKM_Make%3ATriumph%7CUKM_CCM%3A1050%7CUKM_Model%3ATiger&hash=item5220a60cc5:g:QmIAAOSwfHpdPZL9
Its the only one i found with a rear caliper, appears to be loads of front calipers.
Yam RD125 DX, Kwak GPZ305, Honda CB400T, 1983 Kwak GT550, Suzuki GSF650 Bandit, Tiger 1050SE, 2019 Tiger Sport .... got there in the end.

did you find a replacement Rear Caliper Megaross?
asking as i need one as well now  :151: took my rear caliper off last week to clean & replace the pads & a small section of the lip on the top seal groove has broken off worse than when i replaced the seals last year.
the top seal is sticking out causing the piston to stick a bit.  :232:
Brakes passed the MOT but i know its gonna get worse
Anyone know where i can get 1 from as nowt on ebay...

For reference of anyone searching in future - trident/trophy/sprint 900 caliper will fit the bleed nipple is just on the bottom not the top.

Nice to know, will add bleed it with nipple on the up side or you will have fun getting brakes to firm up.

Nah just take off the caliper, stick some wood between the pistons and point the bleed nipple up.

Rears always bleed pretty easy I find.
