V System Scottoiler 2019 TS
on:
29 March, 2020, 02:58:46 PM
Hi all, purchased a vsystem Scottoiler for my 2019 TS. Having looked on the forum, some say cannot be fitted to FBW.
Others say yes it can, with no issues. My concern is the Triumph warranty. Main dealers shut.
would really appreciate
Thanks in advance. TT.

This is the vacuum model, and not the electronic? Please confirm.
IMHO, it can be fitted no problem, though I know Mr T doesn't recommend it and so many dealers will not fit. However their explanations have seldom been satisfactory, because I know some post 2016 Tiger riders have fitted and run it no problem.
I suspect that Mr T doesn't really like it (the vacuum model) because if you don't get the adjustment right, you can over-oil the rear chain, and on the Sports Mr T decided to locate the rear disk right next to the chain. So excessive oiling could in theory get onto the brake disk (though of course Mr T would never admit to such a design error). I've never had the problem, even when oiling level set to the point where it splashes everywhere else (ps. my Sport is pre RBW).
I believe that an electronic version is considered OK, which IMHO tends to confirm my suspicions, since it's easier to control the flow on the electronic ones. But on the vacuum one, as long as fitted correctly, you shouldn't really have a problem.

Dealer fitted a vSystem to my new '14 TS no problem.
When I bought my FBW '16 T800, dealer wouldn't fit a vSystem, said Triumph instructed them not to fit it to FBW models, warranty bs. So went with an eSystem, no probs it's better, just double the dosh. The xSystem wasn't out at the time, that looks ok & cheaper.

Dealer made a fecka of fitting the moniter. he stuck it on with two bits of Velcro but two the same so it fell off down the road.
I made a bracket from 3mm ally and fitted it to the clutch to bar screws. I like it, worth the money imo, give it a 60 sec burst if caught in shoite or rain. And easy to up or down the flow on the move.

Thanks for your replies. Just to confirm, yes it is the vacuum model. Had one on a 2015 TS with no issues. Have one on my present 17 T120, no issues at all.
Its the fact that FBW , the vacuum can affect sensors. Have read in previous threads they had no issues with the V on FBW models???
