MAYBE SO.. BUT . how long is it going to take from the US as opposed to getting a brand new assy that you know is going to fit from Fowlers or WOT in a couple of days?
looking at your photo of the separate parts .. (to me anyway) looks like you may be best off replacing the end plate which holds the spring arms as well!

As you pointed out the plate is worn so purchased a new one with the Kawasaki spring from Fowlers. Must be the high percentage of Yorkshire in me that begrudges spending unneccessarily lol.

I'm the same usually but sometimes expediency wins over cost. I wish someone would do a YouTube video on this fix.

To close the loop on my experiment - Crosscountry just sent me an email saying the part is discontinued. Seems they've been asleep at the wheel too. They did not offer me the entire assembly which is annoying in terms of support so they might be a dud bunch. It was worth a shot I guess. There must be a spring out there from other manufacturers that'd work. In the UK, where you guys still keep Lancasters and Spitfires flying, I'd bet there is a spring manufacturer who could make one if they had a sample. If you go over to Brooklands on a meeting day and ask around, it'd likely come to light.

I sent a email to Triumph asking if the spring was available and got the response it's not for my model pointing me in the direction of Fowler's for the complete assembly.  I asked for confirmation that the spring on the shaft is the same as the part unavailable for the other gear assembly but have not received a reply.  I will give it another day and chase them for a response.

And I will look into the spring being made as someone mentioned there was a spring maker in the local area.

As our Tigers age, we'll need unconventional solutions. The market will rise to the occasion, I'm sure. These bikes should be viable for many years to come if we think outside the box. I'm betting most issues are just a matter of investigating alternatives. Good hunting!

Try Sprint Manufacturing for a spring, they do some parts that are unavailable.
