Triumph Malvern Goretex suit
« on: 19 July, 2019, 02:05:55 PM »
I saw Fowlers are advertising this suit at heavily discounted price eg Pants 390 down to 292.50 Jacket 620 down to 465. Great prices for Goretex gear.

So I went off to local dealer to try for size, glad I did, the pants are correct, I take 36" jeans & their 36" pants were spot on, but about 3" too long for my 30" legs & the knee armour was more like shin guards on me. No shorter size.

Tried the Jacket, sales boy gave me a size L, I got it on halfway but it took 3 of us to get it off me, XL, no way, XXL fitted across the top but like a pear shaped overcoat and still so tight on the forearms I needed help to get one arm out, then I could get it off myself. The arms were down to me fingertips, ideal is to the knuckles for me. I'm 5'-9" but got a 6ft span so not short in the arm.

No bleddy wonder they're discounting them. I near bought them online from Fowlers when I saw the price, good job I tried them first.

I too have had issues with Triumph clothing sizing, does seem like they use a cross between Shrek and Bilbo Baggins for modelling :008:

The older Triumph gear is a good fit for me, I have 3 jkts that all fit perfect size L.
Bought a new Triumph jkt and it was so wrong that I returned it the next day.

Aye m8, same here, I have 3 Triumph jackets, 2 of them are over 10 years old, they are a perfect fit on me & good quality. The last one I bought about 5 years ago on-line thinking it would be same fit is a bit pear shaped but nothing like the bell shape of the Malvern jacket.

Agree. The accountants have obviously been let loose in the Triumph clothing department. I've got a couple of older Triumph jackets that are a good fit and good quality, the last time I tried on a Triumph Jacket it was a shapeless wonder (might have come in handy as a ghillie suit). Ended up buying a Merlin Jacket and I'm very happy with it. Don"t even start me on about Triumph Tee shirts, you could spit through them now.

I've been into my local dealer half a dozen times to buy some kit but found it all nasty, as discussed above. It's a wasted opportunity to make a buck, again.
