Oils for Improved Shifting
« on: 07 July, 2019, 09:16:47 PM »
Years ago there was a listing of motor oils for Tiger 1050 that improved shifting. Can anyone help find it?

The best oil for your bike will be dependent upon the climate in your location.

I don't remember seeing a list  :187:

Personally, for Auckland New Zealand, the 10/40 fully synthetic, gave the best gear change, however the 15/50 ratio stuff was best for all round performance.

It doesn't ever get cold here  :110:

I'd be interested to see this.  Have tried the various major name oils, currently my favorite is Motul 300V, 10w-40, but the darn stuff is expensive.

$77.00/4L, don't know what the current exchange rate works out to.

Actually, hold the fort, just found it for $57.50 on Amazon, go figure.

Best oil is clean oil, change it every 3K miles or 6 months whichever comes first.  :152:

:0461: A clunky gear change on a bike with 5,000 mile old oil, miraculously fixes itself, after a routine 6,000 mile service.

And we automatically commend the mechanics, for the great result  :008:
