Mounting bracket across windshield fixings
« on: 18 April, 2019, 11:47:56 PM »
Anyone know of a mounting bracket that can be adjusted to fit between the screen adjusting mounts as depicted in the photo attached?
My preference is to place a GPS in this position. There must be something out there?

Cheers  :084:

Search the site. Quite a long thread on this and is where most of us have ours. Just use a ram mount.

You can buy a mount from German chap at navihalter.de for about 95. Good quality and works well, but only for GPS, nothing else. Don't know what postage out to Oz would be.

Looks like a fun project. Should not be too difficult to mock something up out of poster board then make a version out of sheet metal. Thinking of doing something similar for my '08. Post some pics if you do, good luck! :028:

I saw a silver TS at the last Haynes Museum breakfast ride in that had a 10mm square ally bar bolted across there with I think a Tom Tom mount riveted to it. I had a quick feel of it and although very simple it was very sturdy, much more so than my Navihalter with the Touratech lockable cage mounted to it.

Impressive indeed...well done mate. I like that however still pretty strong on having it sitting further back. Currently have a few ideas running through the noggin. Thanks for sharing its certainly food for thought... :028:

Hey Mal...funny you say that. Today I was in Bunnings (similar to Watsons or Big Value) looking at metal tubing sections comparing, sizing up etc seeing what may or may not work. Inspiration is king so I appreciate all you guys are sharing... :031:
