Too early for the proper spring clean. I'd only have to do it again and I'd hate to wear things like plastic lugs out by removing and re-fitting too often  . Have done a muc-off and snowfoam treatment during the week  so the old girl's actually looking pretty good for this time of year. Just need to top up the ACF and we should be good until spring arrives properly.

Spring clean means removing panels!      Looks like what Timbox's got is infectious .... damn .... I'll start wearing gloves at the keyboard now .....

Nah - once the grit has gone I'll do the calipers so will take off the wheel and can at the same time, which give good access to the muckiest bits. Only panel I take off is the bellypan when I clean the exhaust - this doesn't happen every year  .

Although I am thinking of pulling off the seat cowl one of these days to move the fuzeblock out from under the seat.

Do you guys put a smear of grease on the back of the rear wheel when you replace it? Just doing mine to clean the salt dust  off and found it had started to corrode! None from new 8 mths ago so is it a good idea?  Cheers

I put a smear of copper grease on cos I usually have it out handy but any grease will do. same on me cars after seeing tyre fitters back-heeling my alloy wheels.

Yup - like Paul the pot of copper grease is usually to hand when I take the wheel off. Got a free mini tube of ACF grease when my winter stockpile arrived - so that's what's on there now.

Cheers guys!  I have plenty of choices of grease. Gave the Caliper another clean too while it’s all accessible .

Well they look solid and good and chunky, which is what I wanted. Double rail to hitch the bike to. A Ground securty rail and behind that a pedestrain railing so used both. Bonus was that when I came out there was a GS parked next to me. Always best to park next to something more popular with thieves  . Will probably move to the underground station park next time. Had a walk down there at lunchtime today. Several (manned) patrol cards down there. Hopefully just because its a convenient place for them to hang out rather than a crime hot spot.

Oh and according to my Satnav I spent a total of 50 minutes on the bike today. That's a couple of hours extra in my day
