Troy Corser at Goodwood 2018
« on: 09 January, 2019, 02:02:05 AM »
Saw this video and had a good laugh, he's chasing down (and passing), John McGuiness who is on a Norton Manx. Troy is riding a 1929 BMW!!
Not sure if it has already been posted?

Brilliant, I reckon JM was maybe being a bit more sympathetic with the Norton, or it hadnt been properly set up though. Those supercharged BM's were quick mind, in 1929 BMW were knocking on the door of 140Mph, similar to what a Manx could do in the 50's.

Great to watch, it wasn't until '61 that the Manx Nortons managed to lap the TT course at over 100mph. Minter followed by Hailwood.

That old BMW was  on loan from the factory museum. It's unusual to see a rare vintage machine ridden to the limits. Watching that bike shake and wobble its way around the track with him reaching over the tank to shift with his left hand just proves Troy is still a madman! John shaking his head in disbelief after being passed and tapped on the bum said it all. :008:

There's another video in the rain with Troy on the BM again, and he ended up riding through a puddle and throwing it up the road!
