Bit of a long shot but....
« on: 08 December, 2018, 08:27:05 PM »
On a ride today, some how, the bar end weight and associated washers and screws have detached themselves from my bike.  Have gone back for a look, but can't find them :(  :012:

I have no idea how this could even happen, looking at the length of the bolt which holds them in place!  But I can't dispute the facts... the hand guard is flapping around and the weight and washers etc. are gone :(

Not only am I quite confused (and can't believe anybody would pinch it, as they'd have to a) want it, and b) be carrying the right allen key etc.), but it's quite expensive to replace all the bits.

Given that a few here have replaced the hand guards with aftermarket, and have replaced bar end weights, I don't suppose anybody has any spare parts I could buy from them !?

Could look for the old right side I had. Came up as an extra after installing a throttle lock.

BUT shipping and VAT would cost most of what a throttle lock would cost.
If you lost left side, you could use the spare from the right side after installing the lock.  USE BLUE loctite to keep them in place.

After market may be your best bet. I did try some alternative guards (gone back to OE now) but had to use the original weights with them.

I do have cruise although I can't reach it so don't use it !

It's the LHS which has fallen off.  I still have the hand guard, just missing the bar end weight and the washers and bolts :(  It's just over #50 to get it all from Triumph....

Ta

Less worried about that tbh and more concerned with bar end weights and getting it back together :).

Great Heads up Dreamer  :028:

Already had one this week about tyres.

I will check the tightness of my Bar Ends.

Just got in from an amazing sunshine ride. Not yet humid, out this way, so my favourite time of the year  :046:

I have some MKI Tiger Bar end Weights, with screws. I'll just go and give them a try (after this lurvely looooong cooool beer) to see if they might be any good  :031:

Hey yd thanks for looking but I dont think they will work :(. (I also suspect postage from you would be more than the parts here...)

But thank you!  And that beer after a warm ride sounds good. I had the heated jacket and gloves on yesterday and was toasty but then got rained on 😐
