Oh I'm definitely going to ride it, I had 45K on my 990 before I was hit on it. I got pretty lucky with this bike as it only has 4000 miles on it and the previous owner rode it 2000 miles since he bought it in 2013.
I never understood the love for these triples since I borrowed a friend's street triple 675 and it just felt like a slightly meater inline 4 ( felt weaker than my FZ8/Fazer 8).
However this 1050 is just something else entirely. It's not a raw and visceral punch like my 990 SDR but it's so refined and I can only explain it as thrust. Smooth dramafree and unrelenting thrust that continues to increase as you twist the throttle. I love not having to work the clutch as much and pulling away clean from 30mph in 4th gear.
With some suspension work, a high mount Mivv suono, decat, performance air filter and intake mod with a good tune and some low fat bars it's going to be one hell of a sleeper while still being a wonderful two up machine when I put the panniers on and take it up the coast.
