:460: Nice, detailed video of changing the stator - great find! I'm going to have to follow the same process to change the cover, so this is useful, thanks.

But now the charging system is all new you should have one super set of T1050 electrics!

Fitted new stator today, was surprisingly easy, hardest part was getting the plug back through under the throttle bodies, between the side of the frame & the other hoses & cables & out  :151:
but with a bit of  elbow grease & some electric contact cleaner spray managed & put the new cable through a slightly different route  :152:
The alternator cover came off with a few taps of a big rubber mallet & only lost about a cap full of oil - so better than i hoped.
pic of the faulty stator

and new one

one thing i didnt follow  from the manual was the torque setting for the 3 bolts on the stator, manual says 12 Nm - i found that 9NM was about the max i wanted to tighten them to as i was worried any tighter would strip the threads in the cover  :187:  :027: But thats just me....  :084:
Airbox back on, tank on - switch on and eh voila  :028:
14.2V running, drops to 14.0v with grips & LED lights on, THANK GAWD for that - had enough bad luck for the moment  :745:

Looks like the upper most coils copped it from overheating

Yep, well done, Triumph actually revised the cooling for the alternator on later bikes. The earlier bikes get an oil feed straight through the bolt from the crank whereas on the later Sports theyve got a drilling in the crankcase higher up which helps cooling for the upper coils, dont help you I know.

Must be very satisfying to see the old stator so damaged, to confirm you got it right. Good job  :031:=

Yes, I was dreading taking the cover off finding a stator with nothing wrong with it inside  :005: and finding I had wasted 240  :157:

The new one also looks like it's rather better made than the original ....

Perhaps one of them was the wrong way around  :114:
