You can keep the GPS wired to the battery (with a fuse) but run it through a relay. Pick up (energize) the relay from the lighting positive to give yourself a high power switched source if you need to add gadgets...
When folks ask me how I am, I reply "I'm here". Seems odd until you consider the alternative...

However, I think I will hardwire the Tom Tom into a live source (maybe indicator as was suggested by Ukwes), That way I have the choice of switched and internal battery power.
Er, maybe the sidelight rather than the indicator .... unless you only want to navigate when you're indicating .......  :002:

Not used one myself, but these distribution boxes look like an easy way to add power through a fuse and relay for several devices, without too much expense:

Good find.  I have a fuzeblock but it's more than twice the price.
Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

+1. Great find indeed at that price. But even finding space for a box that small will be tricky on a TS - 60 x 60 x 35 mm approx. Maybe suspended from loom under the tank? Or pushed under just forward of tool tray?

Or maybe under one of the cockpit fairing infills?
