Adaptation
« on: 24 June, 2018, 04:58:47 PM »
Hey, ive obviously been using and enjoying Tuneecu but ive a question.
Watching the video on YouTube by Mark B his connection to the software stays green the whole time even when he re sets adaptation, downloads the map and turns the key on and off for10 seconds and then he is able to re set everything again without losing connection and starts his bike.
I seem to loose connection after the1st reset and then when it finally connects again i download the map and do the 10 second thing, i then loose connection and have to start the bike.
It doesn't stay connected for me to do the second reset which leaves me to warm the bike and then wait the 12 minutes as suggested in the sticky for the adaptation
I'm doing everything from a memory stick, do i need to be connected to the internet during the process?
Sorry if this has been covered
Im on my phone and ive written too much

No you don't need to be connected to the internet.

Just do this:

1. download map
2. ignition off
3. ignition on, count to 10
4. ignition off, then immediately switch back on again
5. select"reset adaption" from ECU menu
6. click "ok" listen for fax sound, once finish
7. click"done" for reset adaption.
8. wait for green light for ECU
9. start bike, wait for TPS green light.
finish

Once you have the tune, the software the internet should not be needed.

Since you mention the phone, guessing your using the later version that's bluetooth. I would turn off wifi entirely.

No need and my phone gets stupid, I would even be tempted to turn off cellular to stop someone calling me during the load and adaption.

The only time I remember loosing connection was after a tune load. The ecu reboots, for the TPS don't recall that happening.

BUT and it's big, if your using the newest version of TuneEcu this might be normal. Just not sure why it would change.

That's great advice. Just imagine a call coming in, half way through the download to the ECU  :005:

Once ive.turned the ignition to do the 10 second thing the green light fails to return to do the reset on the menu, it struggles to find it again.
I guess i have the newer version.
Ive been using the ex girlfriends laptop so i might look into using my phone and Bluetooth.
Its proving a big deal with me asking her for some reason 😁
It sounds like you guys don't lose connection at all.
The laptop definitely does.
I'll try my phone.
I.have everything on a memory stick so out should of been ok
