Mods Tiger 1050 the same as for Tiger Sport?
« on: 19 June, 2018, 02:07:27 PM »
Hello all,

I'm waiting for the delivery of mine Tiger Sport 2013.

I have read a lot about the different mods, but most them on Youtube are on the 1050 in stead of the Sport.
I already ordered a Arrows Exhaust and want empty the cat, modify the airbox, place  a K&N filter.

Can I use all the examples as done on a 1050?
Can in ride the bike before i changed the mapping ( I'm gonna search for some help with that)?

Greetings from Holland.

Why not ride the bike first and then ask yourself what you want to achieve?  Think the airbox design is different too, no dogleg maybe?

I had a Tiger 1050 2007, but before that i had a Speed Triple 1050, i love the comfort of the Tiger but miss the power of the Speed.
And i like changing stuff. I also want the bellypan and rear plastics (i don't know the right term) in the same color as the tank.

I would think more about ensuring the basics are done. You may have to focus on things like front disc vibration (cleaning bobbins), rear caliper servicing (seizure of the pins is common because of its hidden-away position), throttle body balance, and changing front fork oil.

Also worth changing the coolant (if never been changed), oil/filter/plugs of course, and making sure battery and all electrical connectors are fine.

Then you can get on to all the mods ....  :490:

Some people say you should. I don't know - you may get more top end, but at the expense of mid-range torque. I've not seen any definitive tests that convince me either way.

But one thing you will get is more intake roar. You may even like it that!  :027:

I left it closed, only the K&N filter.
