So I just got this kit, paid for the XB35's but they sent the standard NHK H1's you get in the generic kits. The wiring loom also hasn't been labeled correctly, which makes me wonder whether it's been wired correctly too... And the high beam solenoid splitter cable that comes with the kit has only got 1 high beam connector on it also.

The first picture shows the standard H1 bulbs, not the Philips XB35's. The second picture shows two ballast cable connectors, except only one of them is labeled Ballast, the other says Input from Motorbike like the H7 connector. And last but least, the third picture is the high beam solenoid splitter cable that only has 1 high beam connector on it.

I've emailed Wouter the Founder/Owner yesterday, but he is yet to respond. What should I do? I really don't want to make a claim through PayPal but I'm feeling like that's my only recourse. The wiring I can sort myself if you can point me in the right direction, but I'm definitely miffed that I was sent standard H1's and not XB35's, especially considering they are based in the Netherlands.

Just wanted to follow up on this... Wouter got back to me and sorted the out the correct high beam splitter cable so I now have everything I need. Him and his teams customer service has been exemplary throughout my little panic attack, if you're having any doubt over whether or not to purchase as they are based in the Netherlands, rest assured your order will be dealt with swiftly and professionally.

If you haven't already read it, here is my blow by blow account. The real pig is getting the two halves separated, then you have to decide where you want to put the electronics gear. I believe that Wouter made up the brackets to fit the lamps, did you get those? I find the delayed start on the lamps is a big bonus for when you are working on the bike, but then again you can always pull a fuse.
I am very pleased with my set up although I am working on a lean angle sensor system to turn on auxiliary lights when cornering and maybe automatically cancel the turn signals automatically and give a gear indication...... Idle hands and all that  :164:

I did stumble across your link it'll deffo come in handy, many thanks  :002:

Yeah I got the brackets, also got the time delay relay - glad to hear it was a good choice! Think I'm going to stick all the electronics in the nose but am going to wait and see once I've got it all apart. I'll keep you posted  :028:

Was thinking about doing something with the indicators but baby steps lol

Its a very good kit, the relay went on mine after about 18 months - I sent a email and they posted me one straight away, very good service. I went from having the worst lights in our group of bikes to the best by some margin - guess who takes the lead when it gets dark now. :490:
If your buying mines a Guiness.

:114:  You're scaring me a little bit.  I've had my kit sitting in the box for the past couple of months now, and I just got around to pulling the headlight housing out earlier this week.  I'm still trying to pry the housing apart.  I guess I need to recheck everything in the box to make sure I'm not missing stuff.  It would suck to have to wait for something to ship from NL again.

I think you will be fine if you bought the complete kit, when I did mine, no such kit was available. Regarding the relay, I wired in my own version of the "Switchless headlight switch" which to my mind gives more control as to when the headlights should fire up compared with a time delay. All the components will be readily available locally whatever you decide to do, and it can be done later any way.

Just check that you've got the right splitter cable, that's the only thing that was wrong with mine. Yeah taking the housing off is a real pain! Took me a whole 3 hours wrestling with it, don't be afraid to mess it up a little bit. I found it was best to pry apart using two flat-head screwdrivers whilst cutting away with a stanley knife, definitely the hardest part of the job. Nearly took just as long to clean out all the left over silicon too! Be prepared to make a big mess.

Oh I also had to lengthen the cable that attached to the battery as it wasn't long enough, needed at least an extra foot but maybe yours will be longer. Also had to drill a couple of big holes to put the ballast cables through but was able to plug them with the rubber bungs that came with the H1's. I attached the grounding cables to the screw that holds the little bit of wire on the underside of the forks that holds the brake cable in place, worked a treat.

8 hours later and it's done! Well chuffed with the result, best upgrade you can make to the bike by far. :152:
