VIN number question
« on: 14 July, 2015, 01:45:11 PM »
Hi, I have just bought the TuneECU cable and CD, but want to make sure I am downloading the correct MAP for my 2008 bike. The list of Maps states up to VIN no 535378, then from 535379 upwards but my VIN ends 8352099. Does this mean I need the maps for VIN 535379 upwards? Sorry if this is a silly question but just wanted to double check with the people who know best first!  :034:

I'm told the throttle works both ways. I'll have to try that some day.

When identifying a bike by S/N, it's the last 6 numbers that are important, so you'll look at 352099.

You'll look for the range in which your number falls.  This is for all OEM parts, also.

"Which way you going?" they asked.
After some thought, I replied, "Doesn't matter, as long as I'm going."

Thanks Texan Rider, so my numbers are the early ones, up to 535378.  :062:

Correct, although I use tunes from other VIN ranges no problem.

My '07 is currently using a lightly richened Arrow tune from the last batch of Tiger1050SE, sold in 2012 - this was done (successfully in my case) to rid the bike of low speed snatch.

BTW you mentioned you had an OBDII cable and CD. Do NOT use the CD that came with cable.
